Stainless steel cylindrical wire mesh filter cartridge is a solution with good balance between price and performance. Wire mesh filter media is wraped on the cartridge inner support, mostly perforated metal, with welding and roll welding. The filter media is not limited t o single layer, different meshes functioning as filtration control and support layers can be welded together to form a mult-layer mesh filter media.

Power plants usually use the water source from what they can easily approach, which is often river, lake or ocean. The heat exchanger then has to be protected by the cooling water filter from blockage and decreasing in heat transfer due to soiling.
